Romance, Romance, and more Romance!

Warning I have a serious obsession with books that have a good fling going on. I'm talking fantasy-romace, action-romance, romance-romance... the list goes on. If their is some good romantic tension going on I'm hooked! So it comes as no surprise that todays post is all about my latest in Romance finds.

  The theme: Romantic Comedys

If I'm being completely honest here I haven't been reading a whole lot of romantic comedies. They just haven't been keeping my attention! I mean how hard is it to write a rom-com that has both good flirting and a little suspense to keep it readable? Luckily I was able to stumble across these rom-com's just the other day and once again there is hope for the future of adorable young love novels!

In Some Other Life
 By: Jessica Brody

Summary: Kennedy Rhodes turns down an acceptance to an elite private school, instead choosing to stay at her high school and jump at the opportunity to date the boy of her dreams. Three years later, Kennedy walks in on that same boyfriend cheating with her best friend—and wishes she had made a different choice. But when Kennedy hits her head and wakes up in the version of her life where she chose to attend the private school, she finds that maybe it’s not as perfect of a world as she once thought.

Ok when I first stumbled across this book I couldn't help but be drawn in by the totally adorable cover! I mean did you look at it? It's down right beautiful! (I mean anything with cute shoes on it is a no brainer for me though) So naturally I just had to know what it was about and can I just say I am genuinely excited to read this! The first few sentences in I thought it was just going to be another cliche high school drama but after I finding out she switches lives? This book sounds totally unique and not like anything I've read in a long time! I can't wait to give this book a try!

Just Friends
 By: Tiffany Pitcock

Summary: A new spin on the classic smart-girl-and-bad-boy setup, this witty contemporary romance shows how easily a friendship – even one built on an elaborate lie – can become so much more.

Jenny meets Chance for the very first time when she is assigned as his partner in their Junior Oral Communications class. But after they rescue a doomed assignment with one clever lie, the whole school is suddenly convinced that Little-Miss-Really-Likes-Having-A’s and the most scandalous heartbreaker in school have been best friends forever. It’s amazing how quickly a lie can grow―especially when you really, really want it to be the truth.

With Jenny, Chance can live the normal life he’s always kind of wanted. And with Chance, Jenny can have the exciting teen experiences that TV shows and movies have always promised. Through it all, they hold on to the fact that they are “just friends.” But that might be the biggest lie of all.

Debut author Tiffany Pitcock delivers a spot-on depiction of first love and the high school rumor mill in Just Friends, chosen by readers like you for Macmillan's young adult imprint Swoon Reads.

Ok does this book not sound totally swoon worthy? And can I just say, again with the amazing cover! This book sounds totally fun! A spin on the classic good girl and bad boy? I sadly cannot resist. Plus there's the whole spin off of having their relationship built off a lie, which sounds intriguing. I seriously want this book now! I miss good romance books that have simple plots but groundbreakingly sweet and epic love! Can not wait to get my hands on this book!

By Your Side
 By: Kasie West

Summary: When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Who hasn't had that fantasy where they dream up that somehow (under very unlikely circumstances) you get stuck in a room with just you and your crush? I mean I definilty have day dreamed of me and the guy I liked opening up to each other because we accidentally bumped into each other at a party or got locked in a closet together (I know I read too much). This book at first didn't really grab me if I'm totally honest. I read the summary and thought it was middy intresting and then I forgot about it. Yet somehow I keep coming across it and then I couldn't stop thinking about how fun it would be to read something like this. I mean its my day dreams in book form! Plus I'm a total sucker for anything that has to do with a bad boy ... which leads me to writing about how much I really want to read this book! Its the epitome of Rom-Com (plus I'm hoping there will be some witty banter because we all need that in our lives)
Anyways I hope you check out this book and our as excited about it as I am!

Thank you all for stopping by my blog! I hope this inspired you to grab a few more Rom-Com's and get reading!

  1. I do want to read a Jessica Brody book someday! She has so many out and I feel bad for having read exactly zero haha. I was really excited for By Your Side because of the library aspect but I kind of found it unrealistic that they couldn't get out of the library.😜 I hope you enjoy it more!

    1. hahaha I can see how it could be frustrating reading it and being like I know a thousand different ways you could try and get out of that library and instead your just staring at each other and talking! But I'm still gonna read it because I'm a sucker for unrealistic ;)
