September: What I Cannot Wait to Read this Month!

Wicked Like A Wildfire
By Lana Popovic

Summary: All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.

But when their mother is mysteriously attacked, the sisters will have to unearth the truth behind the quiet lives their mother has built for them. They will discover a wicked curse that haunts their family line—but will they find that the very magic that bonds them together is destined to tear them apart forever?

Does this book not sound amazing? I mean magical powers (that sound incredible I might add) and a mystery revolving around the sisters mother! I am hooked! This book sounds totally unique plus I have been craving a good YA fantasy novel for a while now! Cannot wait to get my hands on this! Also it sounds like theres going to be some great sister to sister bonding, and who doesn't love that?

The Raven Boys
By Maggie Stiefvater

Summary: “There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before.

Ok I have been hearing SO much hype about this book and I just had to look into what it was about. I knew imediently after I read the summary that I would love this book! I mean it is totally the type of book where anybody who loves romance, mystery, and a little bit of the paranormal would love! Plus I am a total sucker for a forbidden romance that revolves around some sort of prophecy. Also this book has a unique angle that a lot of YA paranormal romance doesn't seem to have, which is knowing that Blue will kill her true love. Seriously I want this book NOW and cannot wait to read it!

Jackaby
By William Ritter

Summary: “Miss Rook, I am not an occultist,” Jackaby said. “I have a gift that allows me to see truth where others see the illusion--and there are many illusions. All the world’s a stage, as they say, and I seem to have the only seat in the house with a view behind the curtain.”

Newly arrived in New Fiddleham, New England, 1892, and in need of a job, Abigail Rook meets R. F. Jackaby, an investigator of the unexplained with a keen eye for the extraordinary--including the ability to see supernatural beings. Abigail has a gift for noticing ordinary but important details, which makes her perfect for the position of Jackaby’s assistant. On her first day, Abigail finds herself in the midst of a thrilling case: A serial killer is on the loose. The police are convinced it’s an ordinary villain, but Jackaby is certain it’s a nonhuman creature, whose existence the police--with the exception of a handsome young detective named Charlie Cane--deny.

Doctor Who meets Sherlock in William Ritter’s debut novel, which features a detective of the paranormal as seen through the eyes of his adventurous and intelligent assistant in a tale brimming with cheeky humor and a dose of the macabre.

This book sounds so intriguing! I personally love a good historical setting, and its even better when they add in murder and supernatural creatures! (This book reminds me a little of The Dark Days Club, which is a really good book you should read if you like your historical fiction mixed with a little paranormal madness!) I'm secretly hoping there will be some captivating romance in this book as well, because we could all do with a little bit of love in our books, am I right? Another book I am looking forward to reading this month! I hope you will check it out as well!

The Night Circus
By Erin Morgenstern

Summary: The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night...

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love - a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart

Ahhh... this book has everything I love and more! Forbidden romance, Magical powers, and an amazingly dark circus where it all takes place! I already have a feeling this book is going to take my breath away! I just hope the writing is good enough to due the mystical circus justice! I want to be able to melt into a visually descriptive world I don't want to escape from! Seriously hope you guys check this book out so then we can talk about it!

A Thousand Pieces of You
By Claudia Gray

Summary: Cloud Atlas meets Orphan Black in this epic dimension-bending trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray about a girl who must chase her father's killer through multiple dimensions.

Marguerite Caine's physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention, called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes—and promises to revolutionize science forever. But then Marguerite's father is murdered, and the killer—her parent's handsome, enigmatic assistant Paul— escapes into another dimension before the law can touch him.

Marguerite refuses to let the man who destroyed her family go free. So she races after Paul through different universes, always leaping into another version of herself. But she also meets alternate versions of the people she knows—including Paul, whose life entangles with hers in increasingly familiar ways. Before long she begins to question Paul's guilt—as well as her own heart. And soon she discovers the truth behind her father's death is far more sinister than she expected.

A Thousand Pieces of You explores an amazingly intricate multi-universe where fate is unavoidable, the truth elusive, and love the greatest mystery of all.

This book is currently sitting next to me on the top of my large stack of to-read books and alas I have yet to start it. Ok so that may be a bit of a white lie I have started it but I've only really read about fifty pages and I have to say the plot is truly, wildly unique. I seriously love the idea that you can travel to ulernate worlds where an alternate version of yourself lives, I mean how cool is that! Plus theres the mystery of Paul. Who is Paul and why is Marguerite so captivated with not only finding him, but understanding why he's doing what he's doing. I have to admit the only reason I'm not perusing this book at the moment is because I was craving some YA paranormal bad boy romance (I know, I know I sound like one of those cheesy readers but I promise you the books were much better than they sound) Hopefully I will find the motivation to pick this book back up again because it sounds quite good.

Looking back at all these books just makes me want to start reading them all now! The problem is will I have enough time? Will I ever have enough time to read all the books I want to read? It seems like theres never enough time when it comes to reading! I hope you all enjoyed my list of books I want to read this month! Tell me about what your currently reading or what are you excited to read about? Tell me in the comments below. Thanks for stopping by! :)
