November Must Reads!

Always and Forever by Jenny Han

Summary: Lara Jean is having the best senior year a girl could ever hope for. She is head over heels in love with her boyfriend, Peter; her dad’s finally getting remarried to their next door neighbor, Ms. Rothschild; and Margot’s coming home for the summer just in time for the wedding.

But change is looming on the horizon. And while Lara Jean is having fun and keeping busy helping plan her father’s wedding, she can’t ignore the big life decisions she has to make. Most pressingly, where she wants to go to college and what that means for her relationship with Peter. She watched her sister Margot go through these growing pains. Now Lara Jean’s the one who’ll be graduating high school and leaving for college and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind.

When your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

SO looking forward to this book! I read the first two and they were amazing! One of my favorite contemporary series of the year by far! The characters are just so lovable, and whats this I see? Laura Jean's dad getting engaged and to their neighbor! (looks like Kitty's scheming is paying off) Also can't wait to see whats in store for Laura Jean and Peter they are just so cute they make my heart melt! Hopefully I will get to this over the holidays! (Also I'm dying to try Laura Jean's cookie recipes this holiday season! Thank god the author supplied Luara Jeans recipes and baking secrets in the back of the first novel!)

The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Summary: In a world of etiquette and polite masks, no one is who they seem to be.

Antonina Beaulieu is in the glittering city of Loisail for her first Grand Season, where she will attend balls and mingle among high society. Under the tutelage of the beautiful but cold Valérie Beaulieu, she hopes to find a suitable husband. However, the haphazard manifestations of Nina’s telekinetic powers make her the subject of malicious gossip.

Yet dazzling telekinetic performer and outsider Hector Auvray sees Nina’s powers as a gift, and he teaches her how to hone and control them. As they spend more and more time together, Nina falls in love and believes she’s found the great romance that she’s always dreamed of, but Hector’s courtship of Nina is deceptive.

The Beautiful Ones is a sweeping fantasy of manners set in a world inspired by the Belle Époque.

I recently stumbled across this book after I saw it in my Goodreads feed from another fellow reader. It didn't catch my eye originally (the cover didn't scream read me) but after reading the summary I am throughly convinced that I need to read this book before the year is up (hopefully holiday money will come through and I will be able to get my hands on a copy soon!) I've always been a sucker for romantic historical fiction and if you throw in a ball (especially a masquerade) you cannot keep my hands off it! I NEED it now!

Ink by Amanda Sun
Summary: On the heels of a family tragedy, the last thing Katie Greene wants to do is move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.

Then there’s gorgeous but aloof Tomohiro, star of the school’s kendo team. How did he really get the scar on his arm? Katie isn’t prepared for the answer. But when she sees the things he draws start moving, there’s no denying the truth: Tomo has a connection to the ancient gods of Japan, and being near Katie is causing his abilities to spiral out of control. If the wrong people notice, they'll both be targets.

Katie never wanted to move to Japan—now she may not make it out of the country alive.

Another read I wouldn't have noticed in a million years if my Goodreads friends didn't introduce it to me! It's very different from what I normally read but I couldn't help but be intrigued. I mean a mystery boy with powers linked to Katie? (tell me I'm not the only one who gets flashbacks to the Vampire Academy books or the Obsidian series) Plus it takes place in Japan, which I think would be really fun to read about! Can't wait to check this out!
